M.M.S. BEDI, J. (ORAL) This is a petition for quashing of FIR No.360 dated 8.11.2013, under Sections 406, 498-A, 323 and 506 IPC, registered at Police Station, Meham, on the basis of compromise. Said FIR was registered at the instance of respondent No.2 Salochana alleging that the petitioners had maltreated her on account of demand of dowry. Petitioner No.1 appears to have obtained divorce from the complainant by mutual consent under Section 13-B of the Hindu Marriage Act. The statements of the parties have been recorded by the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Meham and a report has been sent to the effect that the parties have voluntarily compromised the matter in dispute amicably. No useful purpose will be served by

CRM-M-13891-2015 (O&M) keeping the criminal proceedings pending.

Following the judgment in case Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab, 2007(3) RCR (Crl.), 1052, this petition is allowed. The above said FIR and all the criminal proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed on the basis of compromise.
