HARPREET SINGH BRAR J. (Oral) Prayer in this criminal writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for releasing the detenue Sabar Sandhu son of Barkat Masih aged about 40 years, resident of village Umarpura, District Amritsar, from the illegal detention of respondent No.3. On 15.02.2025, the following order was passed:- "XX XX XX XX Notice of motion for 19.02.25.
Registry is directed to appoint a Warrant Officer, who shall visit the alleged places of detention and any other place, as may be pointed out by the petitioner. In case the alleged detenue is found in illegal detention of respondent No.3, the Warrant Officer shall ensure his release forthwith. The petitioner shall meet the requisite charges on account of fee and travelling expenses of Warrant Officer as fixed by the Registry.

CRWP-1647-2025 Warrant Officer is directed to submit his report on or before the next date of hearing.
In compliance thereof, the report of Warrant Officer has been received and opened in the Court itself and the same is taken on record.
A perusal of the report of Warrant Officer indicates that the husband of the petitioner was arrested on 13.02.2025 in case FIR No.0005 dated 16.02.2025, registered under Sections 21, 29 of the NDPS Act (Section 21-C of the NDPS Act added later on) at Police Station Cantonment Amritsar and he was taken in police custody on 13.02.2025 and the jurisdictional police authorities have been granted his police remand for 03 days.
In view of the report made by Warrant Officer, no further direction is required to be passed.
Disposed of accordingly.
