This is the second petition for regular bail filed by petitioner Tajinder Singh @ Rohit, an accused in F.I.R No. 28 dated 18.2.2020 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act registered with Police Station Sultanwind Amritsar City. The first petition filed by him bearing CRM-M-35406 of 2020 had been dismissed as withdrawn.

As per report received from the trial Court along with copies of interim orders, the prosecution has closed its evidence and now the case is fixed for defence evidence. In all likelihood, the trial is likely to be concluded in near future. Even otherwise, it is a case of recovery of commercial quantity attracting bar of Section 37 of the NDPS Act. Therefore, I do not find any reason to grant regular bail to the petitioner during pendency of the trial. The petition stands dismissed accordingly. CRM-M-12630 of 2021 trial within a period of three months from today giving short adjournments. The accused would of course bring defence evidence and not seek frequent adjournments for that purpose.
