Prayer in this writ petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical), being fully eligible at par with two other employees along with all the consequential benefits.

The case has been called twice since morning and despite that there is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. The situation was not different even on the last two dates of hearing. It appears that neither the petitioner nor his counsel is interested in pursuing the present petition.
