M.M.S. BEDI, J. (ORAL) This is a petition for quashing of FIR No.59 dated 28.9.2013, under Sections 498-A, 406 and 323/34 IPC, registered at Police Station, Mahila Police, District Bathinda, on the basis of compromise. Said FIR was registered at the instance of respondent No.2 Ritu Kaur alleging that the petitioners had maltreated her on account of demand of dowry.

The matter has now been compromised. The parties were directed to appear before the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Bathinda, to get their statements recorded regarding the matter having been compromised. A report has been received to the effect that the matter has been amicably resolved between husband

CRM-M-14186-2015 (O&M) and wife by parting company. I am satisfied that the matter has been compromised without any threat, coercion or undue influence and the FIR in said circumstances can be quashed. Following the judgment in case Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab, 2007(3) RCR (Crl.), 1052, this petition is allowed. The above said FIR and all the criminal proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed on the basis of compromise.
