SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 8, parents and other relatives of petitioner No.1. Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 16.01.2017 (Annexure P-5) made by the petitioners. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Shiwani Dahiya is 09.09.1994 as per copy of Secondary Examination Certificate (Annexure P-1) and that of petitioner No.2-Arun Sharma is 28.06.1992 as per copy of Secondary Examination Certificate (Annexure P-2). They got married on 24.12.2016. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-4. Mr. Narender Pal Bhardwaj, Advocate has appeared on behalf of respondents No.4 and 5. On the request of learned counsel for respondents No.4 and 5, opportunity was provided to respondents No.4 and 5 to have a talk with the petitioners.

-2Learned counsel for respondents No.4 and 5 submits that respondents No.4 and 5 or any other relative of petitioner No.1 will not interfere in the life and liberty of the petitioners.

In view of the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners and submission of counsel for respondents No.4 and 5, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Superintendent of Police, Karnal to look into the representation dated 16.01.2017 (Annexure P-5) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioners apprehend danger to their lives as relatives of petitioner No.1 are in Chandigarh and they may harm them and requests to send petitioners to Protection Home, Chandigarh for their security. In view of request of learned counsel for the petitioners, the petitioners be kept in Protection Home, Chandigarh for their security and protection.
