MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Petitioner is seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8.

Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that the petitioner solemnized marriage with the daughter of respondents No.4 and 6 on 24.12.2023, against the wishes of the private respondents. After solemnizing marriage, Navjot Kaur had migrated to Canada, however, the private respondents had been extending threats of dire consequences to the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if direction is issued to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, to look into the representation dated 24.02.2024 (Annexure P-6) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

In view of the restricted prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka, to look into the representation dated 24.02.2024 (Annexure P-6) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps, if required, in accordance with law.
