Petitioner has preferred the present petition for the issuance of an appropriate writ, especially in the nature of mandamus, seeking provision of adequate security to the petitioner in view of facts and circumstances of the case. Petitioner claims that he is involved in Gau Sewa Commission, Punjab since 2019. He was appointed as Vice Chairman of the said Commission and is a public spirited person being involved politically and socially. Earlier security was provided to the petitioner for the last 15 years. CWP No.5467 of 2022(O&M) petitioner wishes to withdraw the present petition on the ground that earlier one PSO was associated with the petitioner and the same was withdrawn, but now PSO has been restored to the petitioner vide memo No.6302-04/DDSB-3 dated 10.02.2022 by the Additional D.G.P. Security Punjab.
In view of aforesaid development, learned counsel for the petitioner prays that this writ petition be ordered to be dismissed as withdrawn at this stage, however, with a liberty to the petitioner to espouse the cause in the event of withdrawal of any such security in future. His further prayer is that in case, the security cover is sought to be withdrawn, adequate notice be given to the petitioner so as to enable him to avail his legal remedies in accordance with law.
In view of aforesaid facts, it would be just and appropriate to allow the petitioner to withdraw this petition, however, with a liberty that in case, any act of withdrawal of security is contemplated in future, petitioner be given 7 days prior notice.
With these observations, this writ petition is disposed of.
