ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant ACP in the pay scale of Rs.5,0007,850 and to fix the pay of the petitioner w.e.f. 01.01.1996 for the post of Mechanic Fitter.

Petition was admitted for hearing on 08.11.2004. 3.

On previous date of hearing i.e. 16.11.2022, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner. Registry was directed to issue notice to the petitioner. As per office report, notice has been received back with a report that petitioner is not residing at the given address. In the premise, no useful purpose would be served by issuing fresh notice to the petitioner as the same too would be an exercise in futility.

Even otherwise by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 19 years before this Court, either it has been rendered infructuous or else the petitioner seems to have lost interest in pursuing the same. 5.

Be that as it may, writ petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application in case any cause of action still survives.
