The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent No. 2 to issue him passport.

The petitioner was convicted vide judgment dated 06.12.2019 and he was awarded sentence of 12 years. The period of five years has not expired, thus, rigour of Section 6(2)(e) of the Passport Act, 1967, is applicable.

Faced with this, counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to withdraw the instant petition, at this stage. 4.
Dismissed as withdrawn, at this stage.
