***** JASPAL SINGH, J (ORAL) This is a petition preferred under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure by Seema Rani and Ravi Kumar-petitioners, seeking issuance of directions to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their lives and liberty by providing police protection and also directing respondents No. 4 to 7 not to interfere in their personal life and further providing security.

Notice of motion to official respondents only, at this stage. 3.

At the asking of Court, Mr. A.S. Kler, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State of Punjab. Copy of the petition be supplied to learned State counsel during the course of day. 4.

At the very outset, when this petition was taken up, Mr. Damanjit Singh Sandhu, Advocate appears on behalf of Krishan Gopal-respondent No.7, who is the brother of petitioner No.1 and

CRM-M-15498 of 2016 --2-- requested that he as well as his mother Ms. Santri have come present in the Court and they want to have a talk with petitioner No.1-Seema Rani. They were allowed to sit at the last benches of this Court and after having a talk, now, they have left the Court. 5.

Petitioner No.1 has been interviewed in the Court and she has categorically stated that she has solemnized marriage with petitioner No.2 at her own accord though against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 7 and intends to live with petitioner No.2. 6.

The present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Khanna, District Khanna, Punjab to look into the grievances unfolded by the petitioners in their representation dated May 02, 2016 (Annexure P-5) and if there is some threat perception, to provide necessary protection to the petitioners.

Since, the petitioners feel apprehension at the instance of respondents No. 4 to 7, who are outside the Court, let the Incharge, Police Post of this Court be directed to make it convenient to take the petitioners up to the ISBT, Chandigarh so that they may board a bus for their destination.

However, this order shall not be construed as a measure to treat the marriage of the petitioners valid or legal. 9.
