(ORAL) Prayer in the present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for quashing of FIR No. 76 dated 22.10.2016 (Annexure P-1) registered under Sections 498-A, 323 IPC at Police Station Mukandpur, District SBS Nagar alongwith all subsequent proceedings arising therefrom. Learned counsel for the State has filed status report dated 05.08.2024 by way of an affidavit of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Banga, District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on behalf of respondent No.1 which is taken on record.

At the very outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present petition has been rendered infructuous as the petitioner No.1 who is the maternal grandmother-in-law (nani) of the alleged victim/wife/respondent No.3, has expired; and petitioner No.2 who is the DIVYANSHI 2024.08.09 17:27 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-14671-2017 (O&M) - 2maternal uncle-in-law (mama) of the alleged victim/wife/respondent No.3 has been acquitted vide order dated 05.12.2023 passed by learned Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in CIS No. CHI-2462017 titled as 'State vs. Raj Kumari and others' in the above-said FIR. Learned counsel for the petitioners has handed over a copy of the said order which is taken on record. It is submitted that accordingly, the present petition may be disposed of.
