SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) Learned counsel for petitioners submits that petitioners have filed this petition seeking protection of their lives and liberty alleging that they are major and have married against the wishes of respondents No. 4 to 9, who are parents and other relatives of petitioner No. 1. Apprehending danger to their lives and liberty, petitioner No.1 moved representation dated 26.04.2017 (Annexure P-6) to Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala.

In view of the submission of learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Police District Batala, to look into the representation dated 26.04.2017 (Annexure P-6) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of copy of this order along with representation in his office.

However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them. (SURINDER GUPTA) May 01, 2017 JUDGE Sachin M.
