MADAAN Present:- Mr. Salinder Kumar Saini, Advocate for the petitioners. *** It is contended that petitioner no. 1 Kajal Rani, aged about 20 years has married petitioner no. 2 Gurtej Singh, aged about 22 years, against the wishes of her family members, arrayed as respondents no. 5 to 9, who are threatening to interfere in their marital life, as such to seek protection in that regard, the petitioners have approached this Court by way of filing the present.
Notice of motion.
At the asking of the Court Mr. Neeraj Poswal, AAG, Haryana has accepted notice on behalf of respondents no. 1 to 4. Let a copy of paper book be supplied to him.
Mr. Naresh Chander, Advocate has appeared on behalf of respondents no. 5 and 6 by filing vakalatnama, which be taken on record. Such respondents are there in the Court in person. At their asking they have been allowed to meet the petitioners. Such respondents alongwith their counsel state that they are agreeable to the marriage of the petitioners and Parvinder Singh 2018.04.19 17:10 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh
CRM-M No. 15872 of 2018 they would not interfere in their matrimonial life. However, learned counsel representing the petitioners states that petitioners have got a genuine threat of physical harm at the hands of private respondents and the persons claiming under them.
The petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent no. 2 Superintendent of Police, Kurukshetra to take necessary steps to ensure that lives and liberty of the petitioners are not jeopardised at the hands of respondents no. 5 to 9. However, this direction will not validate the marriage said to have taken place between the petitioners and will have no effect on any civil or criminal action which could be initiated in the matter in accordance with law.
