The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to grant him promotion to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector with retrospective effect.

The petitioner claims that Sub Inspector Gurdawaya Ram and Onkar Singh were junior to him or had passed Lower School Course on the same date, however, they were promoted to the rank of Assistant Sub Inspector prior to him. Their promotion was made retrospective and their actual date of promotion was at par with him. He also deserves retrospective promotion.
