Mr. Hitesh Ghai, Advocate for respondent No.2.      The instant petition is for quashing of FIR No.189 dated 07.12.2014 registered under Sections 354 and 506 IPC at Police Station Sadar Ludhiana and the consequent proceedings arising out of the same, on the basis of written compromise (Annexure P72) arrived at between the parties.

The parties had appeared before the court below and made statement. The report has been received. Counsel for the complainant points out that though the report is that compromise is voluntary but the complainant had made statement that she was making the statement on the assurance given by the petitioner that he would marry her after the FIR is quashed.

     Both the parties are present in court today. The petitioner wanted some time to think over. He states that he would consider the fact.

Some time was then given to the petitioner and the matter was taken up again. Counsel for the petitioner says that they want to withdraw the petition.
