A status report regarding the investigation in FIR No.15 dated 17.02.2017 under Section 306 IPC, Police Station Sector 49, Chandigarh was sought by this Court as it was alleged that investigation was not progressing due to the influence of a relative of the accused. Learned counsel for Union Territory, Chandigarh, on instructions from SI Manjit Singh, Police Station Sector 49, Chandigarh, submits that the final report under Section 173 Cr.P.C./Challan in this case has been presented on 24.04.2017 against Parveen Kumar i.e., the husband of the deceased. Charge against him has been framed on 31.05.2017. The matter is before the learned trial court.

Keeping in view the aforesaid, no further order is required to be passed in the present petition.

Disposed of accordingly.

It is however clarified that in case the petitioner still has any grievance, he is at liberty to seek remedies as may be available to him in accordance with law.
