2. To be referred to the reporters or not?

3. Whether the judgment should be reported in the digest? ***** LISA GILL, J.

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a direction to respondents No.2 to 4 to issue a Marriage Certificate to the petitioner as detailed in the petition.

The Marriage Registration Certificate has since, admittedly, been issued to the petitioner by the competent authority. It is noticed that this matter was kept pending as it was directed by a coordinate Bench on 18.03.2019 that the aspect of delay in the issuance of the certificate needs to be examined and an affidavit of the Marriage Registrar-cum-Tehsildar, Tehsil Jagraon, District OMKAR SINGH 2020.01.13 17:24 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

CWP No.5605 of 2019 [2] Ludhiana was directed to be filed to explain the reason for the delay. Affidavit dated 06.05.2019 of Mr. Beant Singh Sidhu, Tehsildar, Jagraon, District Ludhiana stands filed with a copy thereof to learned counsel for the petitioner.

It is noticed that none had appeared on behalf of the petitioner on the last date of hearing, and neither is there any representation on his behalf today. I have gone through the abovesaid affidavit dated 06.05.2019 wherein the reasons for delay have been satisfactorily explained. Keeping in view the same, no further order is called for, at this stage. In view of the fact that the Marriage Registration Certificate stands issued, present writ petition has been rendered infructuous.

Disposed of accordingly.
