(ORAL) Apprehending threat to her life at the hands of private respondent and also because she is a witness in a case under SecƟons 306, 353, 332, 218, 195, 166, 167, 186, 120-B IPC and SecƟons 7, 8, 13(2) of the PrevenƟon of CorrupƟon Act and allegaƟons are against the private respondent, the peƟƟoner had come up before this Court seeking protecƟon.

Short reply dated 04.09.2023 filed by State counsel today in the Court is taken on record. State counsel submits that now the security has been provided to the peƟƟoner subject to periodic reviews aŌer evaluaƟon of threat percepƟon as per State Security Policy 2013.

Given above, the present peƟƟon is partly allowed. State to provide adequate security to the peƟƟoner aŌer verifying the threat percepƟons on weekly review basis. Liberty reserved to the peƟƟoner to come to this Court again, if need arise. It is clarified that disposal of the present peƟƟon shall not come in the way of peƟƟoner, in case, the peƟƟoner chooses to file any applicaƟon before the Human Rights Commission or any other Courts of law in accordance with law. It is further clarified that it shall be permissible for the State to withdraw the security at any Ɵme when according to them the threat percepƟons is vanished. All pending miscellaneous applicaƟons, if any, stand disposed of.
