***** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Writ petition was filed some time in the year 1998. Matter remained pending in motion hearing before a Division Bench of this Court. When taken up for hearing on 28.08.2002, the following order was passed: "CM No.26125 of 2002 C.M. allowed. Annexure P-11 to P-14 are taken on record.

CWP No.4054 of 1998 The learned counsel for the petitioners undertakes to file a complete comprehensive paper-book of the amended petition.

Allowed as prayed. Needful be done within one month. The learned State counsel may also file a comprehensive amended reply.

Put up as and when the needful is done."

Apropos, no steps have been taken till date. Resultantly, the petition could not be listed for hearing before the Court. Ultimately, Registry realized that no steps have been taken and matter has been unnecessarily gathering dust in the Registry, and then file has been put up for hearing. Today, on resumed hearing, after so many years, on being questioned as to VANDANA 2022.11.09 14:00 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

why no steps have been taken, no plausible explanation is coming forth from the petitioner's side.

In the premise, it appears that the petitioners, having filed this case in 1998, did not thereafter bother to pursue the same with the office of learned counsel, and obviously had clearly lost interest in pursuing the petition. It is difficult to believe that as long as for 24 years they did not approach the learned counsel to seek listing of the case. 4.
