(ORAL) By way of this petition, the petitioner has sought the indulgence of this Court for the issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to regularize his services w.e.f. 23.08.1986 and also to promote him as Junior Technician w.e.f. 10.10.1987, i.e. the dates when Sh. Chanan Singh, who was placed similar to him, had been given the said benefits, while averring that he is also entitled to the afore-claimed benefits on the basis of parity and though, he had moved an application/representation dated 12.02.2013 (Annexure P-9) to respondent No.1 in this regard but till date, he has heard nothing about the fate thereof.

Mr. Pawan Sharda, Sr. Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, has appeared in this case on behalf of all the respondents in pursuance of the copies of this petition having been sent to the respondent-State in NEETU RANI 2021.03.19 15:42 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied in case a direction is issued to respondent No.1 to consider and decide his said application/representation Annexure P-9, within some specific time-frame.

Learned State counsel has no objection for the same. Keeping in view the above-discussed limited prayer of learned counsel for the petitioner and without commenting upon the merits of the matter in hand, the instant writ petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to respondent No.1-Secretary, Department of Transport Punjab, to consider and decide the said application/ representation of the petitioner (Annexure P-9) in accordance with the relevant rules/instructions/law/policy, by passing a speaking order thereon, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of the certified copy of this order.
