******* KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Petitioners are praying for direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to provide protection to their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents No.4 to 7.

In the petition, it has been stated that both the petitioners are into live-in-relationship which has been opposed by private respondents No.4 to 7 who are related to petitioner No.2. 3.

Counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners both of whom are major and unmarried are into live-in-relationship against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 7 who are extending threats to cause harm to the petitioners and in this regard they gave representation dated 26.02.2024 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2 i.e. Superintendent of Police, Kaithal but the police authorities failed to take any action on the basis of the said representation. Counsel for the petitioners further submitted that he will be satisfied if necessary action is taken by the authorities on the basis of the aforesaid representation. 4.

Mr. Neeraj Sheoran, DAG Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the State and submits that in case any such representation is pending, the concerned authority will look into the matter and take action in accordance with law.

In view of above, without going into the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with direction to uperintendent of Police, Kaithal to consider representation dated 26.02.2024 (Annexure P3) and to take action if so warranted in accordance with law in case there is any threat perception to the petitioners.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion on the validity of the relationship of the petitioners. It is also made clear that respondents No. 4 to 7 are at liberty to avail appropriate remedy available to them under law against the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
