**** RAJ MOHAN SINGH, J. (Oral) Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is a contractor and has executed laying of interlocking tiles in various streets of Nagar Panchayat, Rayya. The work was completed to the satisfaction of the department. Out of total amount of Rs.35,29,024/-, an amount of Rs.19,34,680/- has already been paid and the remaining amount has been retained, despite the fact that the bills to this effect have already been passed.

Precisely for the claim in question, the petitioner has already approached the respondents by way of filing representation dated 04.02.2022 before respondents No.3 and 4, but the same has not been decided so far. CWP No. 11493 of 2022 -2At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied in case its representation is directed to be decided by respondent No.3 by passing a speaking order in accordance with law. Notice of motion.

On the asking of the Court, Ms. Aakanksha, A.A.G., Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. This writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to take note of representation dated 04.02.2022 got issued by the petitioner and pass appropriate order in accordance with law, preferably within a period of one month from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order. If the entitlement of the petitioner is established with reference to record, then the payment be released to the petitioner forthwith.

Delay, if any shall entail in grant of interest @ 6% per annum from the date of accrual till final realization of the amount.
