***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that there is a matrimonial discord between the petitioner and his wife i.e. respondent No.4-Sonia on account of which relatives of respondent No.4 including her brothers have been threatening the petitioner to eliminate him. It has further been submitted that although representation dated 27.2.2020 (Annexure P-2) has been moved before the police seeking protection, but no effective step has been taken for providing requisite protection. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and while refraining from making any expression as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Station House Officer, Police Station Sector-5, Panchkula, District Panchkula to look into the matter and to examine the alleged threat perception of the petitioner.

( 2 ) CRWP-2348-2020 (O&M) The petitioner would be at liberty to move appropriate application before respondent No.3-Station House Officer, Police Station Sector-5, Panchkula, District Panchkula in this regard. In case, it is found that there is any imminent threat to life and liberty of the petitioner or other members of his family, then requisite steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioner or other members of his family .

A copy of this order be sent to respondent No.3-Station House Officer, Police Station Sector-5, Panchkula, District Panchkula so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously.
