(Oral) The petitioners who are in a 'live-in' relationship have approached this Court seeking issuance of directions to the official respondents to protect their life and liberty as their 'live-in' relationship is not acceptable to the private respondents who are the husband of petitioner No.2 as well as her father-in-law and mother-in-law. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that it is a case where husband of petitioner No.2 used to harass her for having brought less dowry and she had been thrown out of her matrimonial home. It is submitted that thereafter petitioner No.2 had been residing at her parental home whereas her two sons were residing with her husband i.e. respondent No.4. - 2 - CRWP-2521-2022 (O&M) fondness for each other, they have decided to enter into a matrimonial relationship after the marriage of petitioner No.2 is dissolved and that presently they are residing together in a 'live-in' relationship. Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and while refraining from making any expression as regards the veracity of the averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Commissioner of Police, District Ludhiana, to get representation dated 16.3.2022 (Annexure P-3) examined as regards the alleged threat perception of the petitioners and to take necessary action as may be warranted under the facts and circumstances of the case. A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 16.3.
2022 be sent to Commissioner of Police, District Ludhiana (respondent No.2), so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously. It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order is not to be taken as any kind of expression as regards the relationship of the parties.
