6 ' 7) +8 This petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for quashing of FIR No. 127 dated 05.11.2014, registered under Sections 308, 323, 379, 356, 427, 148 and 506 read with Section 149 of the Indian Penal Code (for short 'the IPC') at Police Station Longowal, District Sangrur and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise arrived at between the parties. Vide order dated 24.08.2015, the parties were directed to appear before the trial Magistrate/Illaqa Magistrate for getting their statements recorded. In compliance thereof, report of learned Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Sangrur, dated 12.10.2015, has been received, wherein, it has been noticed that the compromise between the parties is genuine, voluntary and reached without any pressure and undue influence.
Learned State counsel informed that a cancellation report in the matter has been prepared and the same is likely to be filed. Otherwise also, the parties have compromised the matter as per report dated 12.10.2015 (Annexure A1).

4 Hence, in view of the report of learned Judicial Magistrate Ist Class, Sangrur, dated 12.10.2015 made in pursuance of the order dated 24.08.2015 passed by this Court, and the guidelines laid down by Hon'ble
the Supreme Court, this Court feels that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the proceedings alive. It will be in the interest of justice, if the settlement reached between the parties is accepted. Accordingly, the present petition is allowed. FIR No. 127 dated 05.11.2014, registered under Sections 308, 323, 379, 356, 427, 148 and 506 read with Section 149 of the IPC, at Police Station Longowal, District Sangrur, and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom are hereby quashed qua the present petitioners.
