Amol Rattan Singh, J (Oral) Today, a short affidavit of Shri Azad Davinder Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Patti, District Tarn Taran, has been filed in Court, in which it is stated that the total weight of the contraband recovered from the petitioner comes to 107.1 grams, which learned counsel for the petitioner submits would only be marginally above the commercial quantity, even if the prosecution story is to be accepted at face value for the purpose of grant of bail.

He further submits that the petitioner has been in custody for the last 14 months.

CRM-M-10220-2019 [2] That being so, with no other criminal case stated to be registered against the petitioner as per instructions from ASI Palwinder Singh to the learned State counsel, and the trial not being near conclusion, the petition is allowed.
