The petitioner prays for issuance of the writ in the nature of mandamus to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner as a Lecturer of the Biology subject (School Cadre). As is evident, the writ petition was filed in the year 1995.

The learned counsel representing the petitioner admits that pursuant to the subsequent recruitment notice, the petitioner was selected as a Lecturer of Biology subject on 15.10.1998. She, on attaining the age of superannuation, has already retired in the year 2016. In these circumstances, it is not possible to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner. 3.

The learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner can be considered for grant of notional benefits.
