"#  $"%" ******* KARAMJIT SINGH, J.(Oral) Petitioners are praying for direction to respondents No.1 to 3 to provide protection to their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents No.4 to 7.

In the petition, it has been stated that both the petitioners are into live-in-relationship which has been opposed by private respondents No.4 to 7, who are related to petitioner No.1. 3.

Counsel for the petitioners, inter alia, submits that both the petitioners are more than 18 years of age and are unmarried. However, presently both the petitioners are living together with their own free will and volition against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 7. That the said respondents are extending threats to cause physical harm to the

' petitioners and the matter is already reported to the police vide representation dated 18.02.2025 (Annexure P-3) but the police authorities failed to take any action against the said private respondents to safeguard the life and liberty of the petitioners.

Mr. Arjun Lakhanpal, Addl.A.G., Haryana accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3 and submits that petitioners who have attained the age of majority, are living together of their own free will and consent. It is further submitted that in case any such representation submitted by the petitioners, who are unmarried, is pending, the same will be looked into and decided by competent authority as per law, at the earliest.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion with regard to status of the relationship which is being maintained by petitioners No.1 and 2, the present petition is hereby disposed of with direction to respondent No.2 i.e. Superintendent of Police, Yamunanagar to consider and decide representation dated 18.02.2025 (Annexure P-3) submitted by the petitioners in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order. 7.

However, any observations made in this order will not be construed as an expression of opinion regarding the validity of the relationship between the petitioners. It is also made clear that respondents No.4 to 7 are at liberty to avail appropriate remedy available to them

( under law against the petitioners. In case the petitioners have committed any offence, law will take its own course.
