***** Rajan Gupta, J. (Oral) Petitioners were part of a mob which gathered on highway on 02.12.2017 to protest pursuant to an incident in which a person died after being run over by a tractor trolley. In order to control the situation, police arrived at the scene. However, police party is alleged to have been assaulted by the petitioners and co-accused. Certain serious injuries are also stated to have been caused to the police personnel particularly, SHO-Varinder Singh attracting offence under Section 307 IPC. Petitioners are incarcerated since January 2018. Investigation qua them is complete and challan has been presented. As the proceedings are likely to take some time to conclude, no useful purpose will be served by detaining the petitioners any longer. They are directed to be enlarged on bail subject to such terms and conditions as the trial court may deem fit to impose. Petition is allowed in these terms.
