Status report by way of affidavit of Sh.Dayama Harish Kumar Om Parkash, IPS Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurdaspur, has been filed by learned State counsel on behalf of respondent No.5 in Court today. The same is taken on record. A copy thereof has been furnished to learned counsel for the petitioner.

Learned State counsel has drawn the attention of this Court to paragraphs 3 and 4 of the status report wherein it has been stated that a thorough investigation has been carried out by a senior police officer of the rank of DSP qua the alleged threat perception. However, nothing had come to the notice of the police from which it could be inferred that as on date there was existence of any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner. 3.

Learned State counsel has submitted that be that as it may, the police is duty bound to protect the life and liberty of each and every citizen of the country and in case any threat perception comes to light before the police or in POONAM RATHORE 2024.09.12 17:52 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh
