Jaswant Singh,J(Oral) Prayer is for grant of anticipatory bail to accused petitioner Sonia Dhir in case FIR No.68 dated 22.4.2016 under Section 420 IPC, PS Division No.4, Civil Lines,Ludhiana.
As per the allegations the petitioner-accused administers a monthly committee of 20 members, each contributing approximately Rs.20,000/- each per month. As per the scheme the members were required to issue security cheques for ensuring their payment of the installments during the operation of the one round of the committee. It is alleged that the said security cheques have been misutilised by the petitioner-accused by forging dates and figures in the said cheques. Learned State counsel on instructions submits that petitioner accused has filed 17 complaints under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act against various persons and the aggregate amount involved RAJINDER PRASHAD JOSHI 2016.05.26 18:04 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CRM-M 17124/2016 is around 17-18 lacs. There appears to be no explanation qua the huge amount being disbursed by the petitioner accused. He further submits that from the naked eyes the over-writings in most of the cheques is apparent, therefore, her custodial interrogation for completing the chain of events is necessary.
Keeping in view the nature and gravity of the allegations and the stand of the Sate,no case for anticipatory bail is made out. Dismissed.
