The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 01.07.1996 which expired on 30.06.2006. The petitioner came to be embroiled in FIR No. 35 dated 03.04.2010, under Sections 304-A, 279, 427 of IPC, registered at Police Station Nahianwala, District Bathinda. He faced trial and ultimately was convicted under Sections 279 and 304-A of IPC. He was awarded sentence of one year. He unsuccessfully preferred appeal before appellate court.
