The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondent to re-issue him passport.

The petitioner was issued passport on 22.06.2011 which was valid upto 21.06.2021. He again applied on 15.02.2021. His file was closed on 21.01.2022 because he did not file response to queries of the respondent. In the police verification report, no adverse material was found. He again applied on 26.05.2022. He filed affidavit deposing that his earlier passport has lost still passport has not been issued.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioner to appear before the passport authority on 01.04.2024 alongwith requisite documents. On doing so, the passport authority would pass an appropriate order within six weeks from 01.04.2024.
