The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.
This is a petition under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. seeking directions to the official respondents to transfer the investigation from the present investigating officer so that conclusive investigation report can be presented in FIR No. 335, dated 17th September, 2020, under Sections 148/149/323/324/506 of IPC registered at Police Station Jhabal, District Tarn Taran.
Mr. Anurag Chopra, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that almost seven months have passed and investigation in the FIR is not concluded. Further grievance is that representation dated 10th December, 2020 has not been dealt with. Mr. H.S. Sitta, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab appearing on advance notice, on instructions from ASI Gurmeet Singh submits that accused in the FIR have made representation for PANKAJ BAWEJA 2021.03.23 13:12 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH
CRM-M-13304-2021 -2filing of a cross-case. The representation was marked to the Superintendent of Police (Special), Amritsar. He further submits that needful will be done in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.
In view of statement made, the petition is disposed of. Needless to say that in case of any surviving grievance or any inordinate delay, the petitioner would be at liberty to avail remedies in accordance with law.
