 Learned counsel for the respondents has placed on record a copy of the order dated 16.08.2022 (Annexure A-2) passed by the Supreme Court in Contempt Petition (Civil) Nos. 399-2020, 400-2020 and 401 of 2020 wherein it has been clarified by the Supreme Court that dearness allowance is also part of the pay which is given to a contractual employee. It has also been clarified by the Supreme Court in paras No.5 to 7 of the aforesaid order that dearness allowance shall be paid to all the employees who have been given the minimum of basic pay as per the judgment rendered in State of Punjab and others vs. Jagjit Singh and others (2017) 1 SCC 148.

Since the issue raised in the appeal has attained finality, the appeal filed by the appellants-Haryana State Legal Services Authority and others is dismissed.
