The present writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent to grant compassionate appointment to the petitioner as per the policy (Annexure P-1). 2.

He further submits that an amount of Rs. 2,50,000/- through Cheque No.383064 dated 04.11.2004, has been released in favour of the mother of the petitioner i.e. Smt. Ram Kaur, as petitioner's father i.e. Sh. Dilbag Singh has expired on 26.06.1999. The said order dated 27.09.2004 has been produced by learned counsel and is taken on record as Mark "X". Registry is directed to place the same at an appropriate place. 3.
There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. Even on the last date of hearing, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner. As such, the present petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous. 4.
However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file appropriate application and seek revival of the petition in case the factual position as demonstrated by learned counsel for the respondent is found to be incorrect. 5.
Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, shall also stand disposed of.
