FIR No. 26 dated 29.04.2017 was registered at Police Station Bassi Pathana against the petitioner and others. The grievance of the petitioner was that he has also given a cross-version regarding which the police has not taken any action. They also apprehend danger to their lives and liberty.

So far as the cross-version of the petitioner is concerned they can avail remedy of filing the complaint or application under Section 156

(3) Cr.P.C. However, I am of the opinion that the lives and liberty of the petitioners is to be protected except for the action taken against them in any criminal or other case.

In view of the above, this petition is disposed of with direction to Senior Superintendent of Police, Fatehgarh Sahib to verify the grievance of petitioners, so far as it relates to the threat to their lives and liberty and take appropriate action in accordance with law.
