JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (ORAL ) Petitioner No.1 (boy) is of the age of 39 years two months whereas petitioner No.2 (girl) is aged 30 years. It is averred that the petitioners are residing in live-in-relationship for the last four years and now petitioner No.2 has received threat at the hands of private respondents who want to marry her with some old person who is not of her choice. Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that scope of the present petition pertains only to the protection of lives of the petitioners. He has submitted that the petitioners have submitted a representation (Annexure P-3) dated 21.3.2022, to the Commissioner of RAJ KUMAR ARORA 2022.03.29 17:58 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRWP-2772-2022 (O&M) Police, District Panchkla, but no action has been taken on the same. Heard. Record perused.

Notice of motion to respondent Nos.1, 2 and 3 only. Mr. Naveen Singh Panwar, DAG, Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of the aforesaid respondents. Copy stands supplied. This Court does not wish to make any observations with regard to the validity of inter se relationship between the petitioners. However, since both the petitioners are stated to be residing in live-in relationship, the scope of present petition pertains only to protection of their lives.

This petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 - the Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, that representation (Annexure P-3) filed seeking protection of life and liberty, be looked into and contents thereof be duly verified and if necessary, requisite steps be taken, strictly in accordance with law for ensuring the protection of life of the petitioners.
