Learned AAG, Punjab has filed a status report, which is taken on record. As per the report, compliance of orders dated 21.08.2024 and 22.07.2025 passed by this Court has been duly effected. 2.

The status report reveals that SHO, Police Station Sadar Dhuri, was directed to verify the factum with regard to the legal representatives of the deceased appellants. During the course of inquiry, the statement of Simranjit Singh, grandson of appellant Raghbir Singh, was recorded. He deposed that his father had three brothers, namely, Raghbir Singh (eldest), Natha Singh (younger) and Bhoga Singh (youngest). his grandfather Raghbir Singh expired on 10.07.1997, whereas his uncle Natha Singh expired in the year 1998. It has further come on record that appellant Raghbir Singh and others had earlier filed a petition before this Court in the year 1994, pertaining to a dispute over land, against his paternal aunt (Bhua) Baldev Kaur @ Chirri. However, that dispute was amicably resolved by a compromise in the year 1995-96 and in view of the said settlement, he stated that the family members do not want any action to be taken on this petition.

From the above factual position, it is evident that not only the original appellants expired long back, but also that their legal representatives have expressly desired their unwillingness to pursue the present appeal, as the dispute has already been settled between the parties. 4.

In such circumstances, the present appeal is dismissed for nonprosecution with liberty to the LRs of appellants to seek its revival, in case, any cogent cause of action survives.
