Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after the summoning of additional accused, fresh charge was famed by the Court of Sh. Sukhdev Singh, learned Additional Sessions Judge vide order dated 4.6.2014 and thereafter, the case was posted for recording the prosecution evidence. The prosecution has been granted 14 opportunities to produce its evidence but on 19.1.2015, only part statement of complainant-Bhupinder Singh has been recorded. Thereafter, no witness was examined. He has pleaded that the trial Court may be directed to expedite the trial as the petitioner is in custody.

The grievance of the petitioner seems to be genuine. Thus, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the trial Court to expedite the conclusion of the trial, preferably within a period of six months from today.
