***** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant pay scales of Rs.950-1500/- as is granted to other Water Pump Operators Grade II (Class III post) w.e.f. 01.02.1996 i.e. the date on which they were regularized on Class-IV post and having worked continuously on the post of Water Pump Operator Grade II (Class-III) since their appointment.

Petition was filed in the year 1999 and has been lying admitted ever since. On the last date of hearing i.e. 12.05.2022, when the matter was taken up, learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that he did not have the case file and sought adjournment to reconstruct the same.

When called out for hearing today, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioners. It seems that by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 22 years before this Court, it has been rendered infructuous and/or the petitioners seem to have lost interest in pursuing the same. 4.

Be that as it may, writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to file an appropriate application in case, any cause of action still survives.
