The petitioner has filed the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus for appointment of warrant officer to raid police Station Chamkaur Sahib, District Rupnagar and premises of respondents No.6 to 10 and to recover the detenue namely Lovepreet Kaur aged 17 years 10 months, wife fo the petitioner from illegal confinement of respondents No.6 to 10 and for further directions to the official respondents to produce the detenue before this Court.

Notice of motion was issued.

CRWP No.216 of 2019 -2Learned State counsel has appeared on behalf of respondentState. In compliance of order dated 22.04.2019, detenue-Lovepreet Kaur has been produced before this Court from Nari Niketan, Sector-26, Chandigarh.

Detenue-Lovepreet Kaur states that she has now become major and she further states that she does not want to reside in Nari Niketan, Sector-26, Chandigarh and wants to reside with her husband Harwinder Singh Dhillon-petitioner, as per her own wish. Learned State counsel does not dispute the fact of age of detenue.

Keeping in view the above facts, detenue-Lovepreet Kaur is set free and is allowed to go from the Court itself as per her own wish. No further action is required. The petition stands disposed of accordingly.

A copy of this order be given dasti to learned State counsel under the signatures of Bench Secretary of this Court.
