(Oral) Pursuant to directions issued by this Court on 09.03.2023, Warrant Officer has submitted its report which reads as under: "For compliance of the orders dated 09.03.2023 passed by Hon'ble High Court, I took police help from Police Post Station, Mehla, Teh. Sunam, District Sangrur vide D.D.R.No. 09 dated 10.03.2023 at 09.50 AM. In the company of police party, we reached the Brick Kiln style of Shivji', situated at village Sular Garat, Sunam, District Sangrur, Under the jurisdiction of Police Post, Mehla, Sunam, District Sangrur, Owners were present at the Brick Kiln, I disclosed my identity and purpose of visit. Thereafter, I alongwith the petitioner and Police Party took a round of the premises having no fence or boundary wall and found that all the alleged detinues were roaming freely and were not found being guarded by anyone at that time. It was found that there was no situation like illegal detention of workers.

I asked the owners of the Brick Kiln as to why the persons mentioned in Para No.2 of the aforesaid Writ Petition have been MOHAN SINGH 2023.03.27 18:32 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-2196-2023 (O&M) - 2 - 2023:PHHC:044923 detained by them. They denied the allegations made by the petitioner and told me that the petitioner and other workers of their own had come to work at his Brick kiln and none has illegally been detained by them and in case the labour do not want to work at his Brick kiln, they are free to go anywhere they like. they gave their joint statements in this regard which are in Punjabi Script and the same are annexed as Annexure "A". However, the Petitioner and other workers did not want to do work there and they were wanted to leave the premises of brick kiln and the owners were having no objection in going of the workers from the brick kiln and there after the Petitioner along with other persons(mentioned in the Para No.2 of the Crl. writ Petition) who are present there left the premises of bricks kiln in my presence in Truck's No. PB-13-AB-2476 along with their belongings. Before leaving the Brick kiln Petitioner also gave his Statement which is in Punjabi Script and is annexed as Annexure "B".

In view of the aforesaid report, no further directions are required to be issued. The petition is disposed off having been rendered infructuous.
