Present:

Mr. Hakam Singh, Advocate for the petitioner.

MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) Petitioner is seeking issuance of directions to respondents No.2 to 4 to protect his and his family's life and liberty at the hands of private respondents.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that it is matter of record that FIR No.548 was lodged against private respondents on 11.08.2024 for offences under Sections 109(1), 190, 191(2), 191(3), 351(2) of the BNS, 2023 and Section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station Rania, District Sirsa, after they attacked the petitioner in his fields. The petitioner in the alleged attack lost his arms as well as legs and also suffered serious injuries to his eyes. Learned counsel submits that the private respondents are influential persons and have been continuously threatening the petitioner with dire consequences in case he does not withdraw the FIR in question against them. It has been further submitted that a representation with respect to the alleged threats was given to respondent No.3 on 11.10.2024 vide Annexure P-3, however, till date the official respondents had failed to act on the said PUNEET SACHDEVA 2025.03.18 16:59 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRWP-2580-2025 -2complainant/representation; rather, the private respondents had been roaming around freely and the police had not even made any efforts to arrest them despite they not being on bail.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if direction is issued to respondent No.3Superintendent of Police, Sirsa, to look into the representation dated 11.10.2024 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

In view of the prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.3-Superintendent of Police, Sirsa, to look into the representation dated 11.10.2024 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps, if required, at the earliest, in accordance with law.
