CRM-M-17366-2015 This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 4 and 5, parents of petitioner No.1.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 18.05.2015 (Annexure P-5) made by the petitioners. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Arti Devi is 29.10.1995 as per copy of Middle Examination Certificate (Annexure P-1) and the year of birth of petitioner No.2-Surinder Singh is 1989 as per copy of Aadhaar Card (Annexure P-2). In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners and without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, this petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Pathankot to look into the representation dated 18.05.2015 (Annexure P-5) and take appropriate action in accordance with law, on receipt of certified copy of this order. However, it is made clear that this order will have no effect on the validity of alleged marriage of the petitioners or on any other civil or criminal proceedings instituted against them.
