(Oral) The petition has been filed, inter alia, seeking a direction to promote the petitioner as Lecturer with effect from 11.07.1985, instead of 01.01.1987, with all ancillary benefits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner, who was working as S.S. Master, acquired qualification of M.A. in Hindi on 17.07.1973, and became entitled to be promoted as Lecturer. The respondents, however, granted him promotion with effect from 01.01.1987, though his juniors were promoted from 11.07.1985. Accoringly, the petitioner is entitled to promotion from the date his juniors had been promoted. 3.

Learned State counsel has referred to the written statement filed on behalf of the respondents to contend that the petitioner's representation to promote him as Lecturer with effect from 11.07.1985 has been rejected. There is no denial to these facts by the petitioner, nor has he placed the seniority list on record to establish that any of his juniors has been promoted as Lecturer prior to 01.01.1987.

In view of the undisputed aforementioned facts, there is no merit in the petitioner's claim.

Dismissed.
