**** HARKESH MANUJA, J. (ORAL) By way of present criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, prayer has been made for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus for release of the alleged detenue, namely, Ramanpreet Kaur w/o Kuldeep Singh and d/o Nazar Singh r/o Village Ramgarh Jawanda, Tehsil and District Sangrur, from the illegal custody of respondents No.5 to 6.

On 07.03.2023, this Court passed the following order:- "Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constituon of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of habea corpus for appointment of warrant officer with a direction to get release the detenue, namely, Ramanpreet Kaur, from the illegal custody of respondents No.4 to 6.

Notice of motion for 10.03.2023.

In the meantime, Registry is directed to appoint a Warrant Officer, who shall accompany the petitioner to SONIKA 2023.03.13 11:34 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRWP-2222-2023 --2-- visit Police Station, Chhajli, District Sangrur, or any other place as pointed out by him to find out the detenue. In case, the alleged detenue is found in illegal confinement, the Warrant Officer shall ensure his release forthwith. The Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur and Station House Officer, Police Station Chhajli, District Sangrur, are directed to provide necessary police help to the Warrant Officer, if need be. The Warrant Officer shall submit his report on or before the next date of hearing. In pursuance thereof, a report of Warrant Officer in a sealed envelope has been received and upon opening the same, report dated 09.03.2023 submitted by the Warrant Officer is made part of the record. A perusal of the report as well as the information provided by learned State counsel, on instructions, from, ASI Rameshwar Dass, Police Station Chhajli, District Sangrur, it can be found that the detenue though having married to petitioner is staying with her parents and wishes to remain with them only.

In view of the above, no further order is required to be passed in the present petition, as such, the same stands disposed of accordingly. 10.03.2023 (HARKESH MANUJA) sonika JUDGE whether speaking/reasoned:
