**** JAISHREE THAKUR, J. (ORAL) This is a petition that has been filed under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No. 16 dated 03.04.2018 under Sections 406, 498-A IPC, registered at Police Station Women, District Police Commissionerate Amritsar, Punjab. This Court was pleased to pass the following order on 02.05.2018 :- "Counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that a compromise was arrived at between the parties in which a sum of `2,25,000/- was handed over to the complainant. This agreement was executed in the presence of several witnesses. Dowry articles were also returned as would be evident from Annexure P-3 which are photographs taken while loading the dowry articles as reflected in Annexure P-4. However, despite the said compromise, the instant FIR has been registered alleging that neither the sum of ` 2,25,000/- was handed over nor were the dowry articles returned.

Meanwhile, in the event of arrest, the petitioner be released on interim bail subject to his furnishing personal bonds and surety to the satisfaction of Arresting/Investigating Officer. However, the petitioner shall join the investigation as and when called upon to do so and shall abide by the conditions as provided under Section 438 (2) Cr.P.C.
In the meantime, the State is directed to verify through the witnesses as to whether such an agreement had been entered into and the said cash was handed over by the petitioner to the complainant as alleged? "
Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner herein has joined the investigation.
Learned counsel for the respondent-State, on instructions from the Investigating Officer confirms the factum of joining investigation by the petitioner.
Since the petitioner has joined the investigation, the petition is allowed and interim order dated 02.05.2018 is hereby made absolute subject to the condition that the petitioner will not tamper with evidence or hamper the investigation; will not leave India without permission of the Court and will comply with the conditions contained in Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.
