Fearing for life and liberty at the hands of private respondents no. 3 to 6, invoking the fundamental right of life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India, the petitioner has come up before this Court seeking protection through the State. 2.

This petition was filed in March, 2023.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that threat perception at the hands of private respondents has vanished, as on date and he seeks liberty to file fresh representation and direction to concerned Commissioner of Police to decide the same within a time bound manner.

Given the petitioner's stand, the present petition is disposed of with a direction that in case the petitioner files a new representation within fifteen days from today, the concerned Commissioner of Police either personally or delegating the same to any IPS Officer under him, shall decide the same within two months from the date of filing of representation. It is clarified that such an order must be a reasoned order, and the same be communicated to the representationists without delay. 5.

Liberty reserved to the petitioner to file fresh petition or to take other legal remedies in accordance with the law, in case the petitioner is not satisfied with the outcome.
